Event Recap | Sichuan Tianfu New Area DSICI Roadshow in Suzhou

The Sichuan Tianfu New Area DSICI Roadshow in Suzhou was held on May 11th, 2023 at the CICC Office in Suzhou. 

The roadshow aimed to raise awareness of the existing opportunities in the Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Park of the Tianfu New Area – an area with strong potential in southwestern China – to Italian companies based in eastern China, so as to promote bilateral trade and investment and identify new cooperation projects between Italy and China.

The Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Industrial Park is one of the three main functional areas of Tianfu New Area. Located in a key area of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, it is also site of the China (Chengdu) Network Audio-Visual Industry Base, and the National Copyright Innovation and Development Base. Three key industries within the Park are creative design, digital film and television, cultural tourism. Tianfu is committed to creating a world-class IP incubator for cultural creation, as well as a world-class destination for theme culture and tourism.

 

 

The roadshow kicked off with an opening speech by Mr Giacomo Bove, CICC Board Member in the East (Suzhou/Jiangsu), who gave an overview of the CICC’s presence in the Suzhou area and the general distribution of Italian companies in the region. 

As a strategic partner of the CICC, the Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Park has become an important platform for developing and carrying out cooperation between Italy and China in the Tianfu New Area, as well as in Chengdu and Sichuan.

 

 

Mr Lu Qiansheng, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Park, then gave a detailed overview of the Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Park.

In 2022, there were 4,117 industrial enterprises with annual turnover exceeding RMB 20 million and 96 major advanced manufacturing projects. As a metropolis in western China, Chengdu has a resident population of over 21 million, and is part of a market of 383 million people in the west.

The roadshow ended with a Q&A session, during which companies had the opportunity to ask questions about specific preferential investment policies introduced by the Sino-Italian Cultural Innovation Park.
