16 July 2021

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to inform that on July 15th our member Piovan Group signed an agreement with Suzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone Administrative Committee that will lead to the construction of a new Piovan Group plant in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.

Extending over an area of ten thousand square meters, the new plant will be dedicated to the design and production of complete automation systems for the treatment of plastics, food powders and refrigeration solutions.

The new headquarters in Suzhou will become the reference headquarters for all the Group's branches based in the Asian region including Piovan Thailand in Bangkok, Piovan Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, Piovan Japan in Kobe and Toba PNC in Seoul - South Korea.

Piovan has been present on the Chinese market for over twenty years. As a worldwide leader in the field of auxiliary technologies for the diverse polymer transformation processes, its presence in China has grown steadily over the years.

The decision to invest in the construction of a new factory is a further confirmation of the strategy that the Group has been pursuing for years: investing resources in the development of an international and structured network with direct branches to always be alongside the customer, from sales to after-sale,” states the press release published by the Group.

Among the distinguished guests present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Michele Cecchi, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr. Flavio Zaghini, General Manager of Piovan Asia, Mr. Mao  Wei, General Secretary of SND CPC Committee, Mr. Zhou Jian, General Secretary of Fengqiao Sub-district CPC Committee, and Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, Chairman of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce.

As a Chamber of Commerce, we place great importance on strengthening existing relations with local partners – both companies and Chinese institutions – and developing new ones, in order to provide better opportunities to our Member companies. The cooperation with local actors has always been an important pillar of CICC activities and now more than ever. This event represents an opportunity to strengthen these relations and set the foundation also for new ones.” (Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, Chairman of CICC)
