POST EVENT: The 3rd Edition of Suzhou Business Forum, December 18th 2019

The China Italy Chamber of Commerce is glad to announce that the 3rd Edition of Suzhou Business Forum has been held on Wednesday, 18th of December 2019 at Crystal Hotel Suzhou.

The Business Forum had the aim to gather all the local, foreign and Italian companies to encourage co-operation and networking: with more than 150 Italian enterprises, Suzhou is a good place to discuss and develop connection between the international communities.


The first speech was held by Ms. Ludovica Murazzani, Commercial Consul of Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai,  who expressed her thanks, emphasizing the high number of Italian companies already located in Suzhou, especially high technological companies and eco-friendly Sme which, with the support of the local authorities, bring a great contribution to the development of Suzhou city.

Furthermore, Ms. Murazzani underlined the importance of the year 2020 for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations aimed to the cooperation, she recalled also the 40th anniversary of the twinning program between Venice and Suzhou. During her speech a video message from the Vice-Mayor of Venice city has been screened, marking the importance of this cultural and industrial connection.


Mr. Valtero Canepa, Vice Chairman of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, took the stage expressing his honor to be present at the 3rd Suzhou Business Forum, reminding that CICC is now representing more than 500 companies. He underlined also the important cooperation between Genoa and Venice and is gratefulness to cooperate with Chinese companies and local authorities.

The Deputy Director of Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office (FAO), Mr. Wu Hongwei, was honored to attend the Business Forum and happy that already 50 local enterprises had the chance to connect with Italian companies and that the investment and trade cooperation between Italy and Suzhou has made so many improvements in few years. He also pointed up Suzhou as the favorite Chinese city for Italian overseas investment, recalling the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2019 as an important proof.

Vice Mayor of Xiangcheng District People’s Government, Ms. Huang Jing, addressed regards and warm welcome to all participants from Italy and China as cradle of western and eastern civilizations.

Mr. Dong Yaqi, Director of Investment Promotion Bureau, welcomed all with the introduction of the Suzhou Xiangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone underlining the effort of the zone to follow the path of high-quality standard, required by the Chinese Government.

Before the conclusion, Mr. Gu Quanrong, Vice Chairman of Administrative & Committee of Suzhou Xiangcheng Industrial Zone, received the “Friends of CICC” Certificate on the stage.

Mr. Riccardo Campanile,  CICC Board of Director - Suzhou Chapter, highlighted the importance of the Business Forum as a place where the demand meets the supply in a very particular way because, considering the era of social networks and platform, this event shows how the human interaction plays a key role in making business at any level.

Afterwards he introduced the 19 Italian companies who participated to the 3rd Edition of the Business Forum.

The event host was Ms. Emanuela Vizzarro, CICC Shanghai-Suzhou Offices Manager who thanks all the leaders and entrepreneurs for attending the 3rd edition of Business Forum, underlining the promotion of cooperation and exchange between the Italian companies in Suzhou and the local Chinese enterprises.

Suzhou Business Forum was closed by the B2B matchmaking which gave a great opportunity to all the participants to exchange business cards and mingle of ideas, information and suggestion about how to improve the mutual business.
