POST EVENT: “Festival Italiano” July 2nd-5th – Shanghai

Dear Members and Friends of CICC,

From an idea of the CICC Food and Beverage Working Group (F&BWG), the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), with the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, is glad to announce that the event “Festival Italiano” was successfully held from July 2nd to July 5th, at Columbia Circle in Shanghai.

The event offered the participants the opportunity to get to the heart of Italian authenticity in the field of music, fashion, culture, food, design, technology allowing the Chinese public to understand the distinctive features that have made the history of Made in Italy in the world. Also children could enjoy the event with sports and recreational activities. 

 

The event started with the greetings of the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai Mr. Michele Cecchi, who gave a warm welcome to vendors, sponsors and all participants present at the Festival. He underlined the importance of promoting Italian culture, craftsmanship, creativity and technology, distinctive traits of Italian excellence.

Afterwards, Mr. Valtero Canepa, Vice Chairman of CICC Shanghai, gave a warm welcome to all the participants and delivered a speech on the relevance of the event and its main goals.

Then, the moderator invited on the stage the main sponsors of the event:

Mr. Huang Tao, DGM of Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Zone, who has a great and long-lasting cooperation with the CICC, followed by Mr. Zhigang Cao, Alfa Romeo Managing Director, thanks to whom it was possible to have the beautiful Alfa Giulia displayed in the Festival.

Afterwards, Mr. Fabrizio Cazzoli, General Manager of Ducati China and Mr. Massimiliano Guelfo, Head of Piaggio Group China took the floor to present their companies, symbols of Italian automotive excellence in China. Ducati motorbikes, Vespa scooters and Guzzi motorbikes have been displayed during the event.

     

With the ribbon cutting ceremony, the Festival Italiano was officially opened!

        

       

        

Throughout the four days, the participants tasted the excellencies that made Italy a global benchmark in the Food and Beverage sector walking though the outdoor market, and enjoying entertaining activities with Italian music and karaoke.

  

A colorful variety of activities were held for every age. Kids could play football thanks to an open football playground and were entertained by the activity “Let’s Draw Italy”, which ended with an Awarding Ceremony for the best drawing of the day.

       

 

              

 

        

 

Thanks to the precious contribution of the Italian Associations in China, the public was able to attend several indoor seminars, discovering the Italian regional beauties: from the wealths of Piedmont, to the secrets of a long life in Sardinia; from a walk through Sicily to the famous Genoa Unesco Heritage Rolli Buildings.

When Italian excellence is celebrated, one cannot fail to talk about food, fashion, and football. For this reason, participants were able to hear about some of the secrets behind the quality of Italian food, and the destiny for Italian food after the food ban was imposed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Istituto Marangoni held a flashing fashion-show, showcasing numerous collections designed by their students.

     

Last but not least, Italian Football clubs offered the opportunity to get to the heart of the Italian football passion in Shanghai.
