Dear Members and Friends of CICC,
On Wednesday, March 3rd at 11:00 am the Haining-Italy (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Salon was held with success at CICC’s Shanghai Office, attended by more than fifty Italian and Chinese companies. The salon represented a strategic and economic solution for Italian companies that have a location or relocation project in China and a great moment to bring Haining under spotlight.
During the business salon, the Deputy Consul General Rocco Genchi delivered a welcome speech, followed by the comments and introduction of Vice Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Valtero Canepa.
Then, the Project Director of Haining Economic Development Zone, Xavier Granger, introduced the investment environment and the vocational policies behind Haining Industry Park., General Manager of Zhejiang Pretec Metal Products Co., Zhuoyun Tang, as the representative of foreign investment companies, presented a case study of foreign investment in Haining.
In recent years, Haining has adopted a project-driven model for industrial development, and kept promoting the launch of major real economy projects, with a view to providing strong support for industrial transformation. Here, the Haining Development Economic Zone, an industrial area of 52km2 characterized by excellent living and working conditions. The key industries in the zone focus on the development of home textiles, equipment and machine manufacturing, aerospace and pan-semiconductor.
In addition, there are different innovative platform and special parks involved in the social and economic growth of Haining: the Haining Sub-park of Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park is the first inter-region collaboration of Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park and Haining Economic Development Zone in Zhejiang province and it is considered a park of emerging industries. Similarly, the Haining Science and Technology Innovation Center and the Haining Pan-semiconductor Industry Park are respectively state-level incubator for technological start-up companies and a centre for research and development.
The Haining-Italy (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Salon ended with an informative Q&A session, with questions regarding local policies and environments of foreign investments, that was later followed by a networking Italian buffet.
