Post Event - Istituto Marangoni Workshop "Italian Style Identities", July 19 - Shanghai

19 July 2019

Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform you that the Workshop "Italian Style Identities" – organized by Istituto Marangoni and co-organized by the CICC, in the framework of the CICC Italian Week – has been held on July 19th 2019, within the premises of the IP Mall, Shanghai.

The workshop got into a start by the introduction of the CICC Office Manager Shanghai-Suzhou, Ms. Emanuela Vizzarro, who celebrated how the Italian Fashion and Design is strongly recognised since the ancient times and it is still appreciated nowadays.

The main stage has been managed by the guest from Istituto Marangoni: the fashion designer Mr. Matteo Lenzotti.
The lecturer began with a deep historical excursus of Italy in the sixth century and the influences played by the Ancient Roman Empire to the development of regions which differed in terms of culture, customs, traditions, and dialects, carrying a similitude with the diversity among the Chinese provinces.

The focus moved on how the fashion was born and why France could be considered as the real incubator of it, but attention has been mostly paid on how the industrial fashion districts developed in Italy along the years and how the main Italian fashion brands achieved the fame which today they are known for.

The workshop continued toward what makes the Italian identity unique: key roles are played by the environment, the local production as the craftsmanship, creativity, history, heritage, and storytelling. It concluded with a Q&A session where participants had the opportunity to interact with the speaker, getting deeply about the concept of Italian creativity and fashion design.

The CICC would like to thank the IP Mall for hosting the event, Istituto Marangoni for its contribution and all the attendees who made it an achiever of a great success.

Best regards,
CICC Team
