POST EVENT- VIII Members' Meeting: Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang-18th of January 2020, Shanghai

Dear CICC Members and Friends, 

 

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is glad to inform that the VIII CICC Members’ Meeting has been held on 18th of January in Shanghai

About 70 Members attended the Meeting, which was an occasion to assess CICC recent activities and discuss some new projects. 

  

The meeting started with Ms. Giulia Gallarati, CICC Secretary General, that greeted the Members on behalf of the CICC Chairman Mr. Davide Cucino, including a tribute to Filippo Nicosia, former Consul General in Chongqing, a positive and talented man recognized for his extraordinary professionalism and empathy.

Then, Mr. Valtero Canepa, CICC Vice-Chairman in Shanghai, introduced the agenda and invited Mr. Michele Cecchi, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, on the stage. The CG underlined the importance of “Sistema Italia” and the importance of cooperation at all levels for gaining more accreditation among the Chinese community. The General Consul congratulated the CICC for the new office in Shanghai which can act as an aggregators of Italian Companies.

 

  

He described the strong interest that Italy has shown towards China, demonstrated by the frequent diplomatic missions to China made by Italian official representatives and he reminded also the visit of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella planned during the year 2020 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Italy and China.

  

The following speaker, Ms. Jane Yang, Project Manager of the European Department Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board, presented an overview about the investments in Shanghai, industries, services and opportunities, new policies from Municipality level especially for Regional Headquarters and Foreign Direct Investment. 

Later, a representative from Shanghai Lingang Special Area Economic Development, Ms. Maddy Yang, Deputy General Manager of Sales & Marketing Center, gave a speech on Lingang Free Trade Zone, underlining the effort of the zone to follow the path of high-quality standard required by the Chinese Government. The plan of the Central Government is to create in Lingang a financial hub able to compete with New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

  

The event continued with a panel discussion focused on incentives, subsidies, facilitation for foreign Companies in Shanghai. Mr. Mauro Anselmetto, Managing Director&CEO at Comau China, Mr.Lorenzo Maffioli, Managing Director at Itema China and BraccoSine GM Mr. Valtero Canepa shared with the audience their experience in terms of interacting  with the Government for regional headquarter, operation headquarter, R&D costs rebate, and VAT/ CIT/ IIT reductions. 

The panelists also replied to the audience`s questions during a Q&A session, giving particular attention to the changes in regulations, which are often quite difficult to keep track of. 

  

In the following session, three presentations focused on the activities of the Chamber:

- Ms. Giulia Gallarati, CICC Secretary General, presented the CICC’s most important projects in 2019, the new projects under development in 2020 and the main future Events. 

- Ms. Emanuela Vizzarro, CICC Shanghai and Suzhou Office Manager summarizes the activities organized and services offered by the CICC in Shanghai and Suzhou in 2019.

- Mr. Antonio Farese, Board Member of CICC, presented the status of the activities of the CICC Working Groups.

  

Following, Mr. Carlo D’Andrea, Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, gave a presentation of the newest Reports proposed by the EUCC.

Mr. Massimiliano Tremiterra, Trade Commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency in Shanghai, talked about promotional activities carried out by ITA - ICE for the year 2020 with a focus on the main sectors financed, like e-commerce, Fashion, F&B and mentioned the interest of ITA to support the mechanical sector.

Q&A Session and conclusion were followed by the final remarks by Valtero Canepa, who gave a description of the CICC co-working spaces available for rent in the CICC Shanghai Office in a dynamic and Italian atmosphere.
