04 November 2021

Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce is glad to inform you that the Webinar "Startup, Research and Innovation Ecosystem in China and Italy“ was held on Nov 4, 2021.

Introduction:

Innovation ecosystems vary enormously from one country to another. China, after making innovation a strategic priority for its economic development, continues to open up its market and to reinforce its technological innovation capabilities through increasing investment in talents and technologies.

In Italy, COVID-19 affected its social and economic system that already suffered long-term structural problems. However, the country can count on being the world’s 7th largest manufacturing economy, with a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem mainly made by dynamic SMEs. The post-pandemic era is also offering Italy an opportunity to structurally reorient public and private investments to further drive innovation and economic growth.

During this event, we explored some of the challenges and opportunities that China and Italy are facing in fostering research, startup creation and growth, as well as innovation.
