RECAP | CICC April Events' Highlights in Southwest

28 April 2025

On April 12th, the "Italian Pizza Culture Tasting Event", jointly hosted by the Commerce Commission and Foreign Affairs Office of Yuzhong District, Chongqing, and supported by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and its Food and Drink Working Group (FBWG), took place at the International Sister Cities Food Street in Hualongqiao.

Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, CICC Vice President in Chongqing, attended as a chamber representative of CICC. He noted that the food and beverage industry is integral to Italy's economy and culture. As a nation with rich Mediterranean heritage, Italy aims to share its culinary traditions globally. The event, he said, bridges culture, deepens the trade between Italy and Chongqing, and paves the way for future food market collaborations.

The event featured Italian cuisine master Mr. Nicola Sangiovanni, who is also the Vice Coordinator of FBWG of CICC, delighted the audience with insights into Italian pizza. Focusing on ingredient selection and cooking techniques, he revealed the secrets to making "the perfect pizza", showcasing his deep expertise and passion for Italian cuisine. Nearly 100 representatives joined the exchange and tasting.

 

18 Aprile 2025

On the afternoon of April 18, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Chongqing International Coffee Festival grandly kicked off at Chongqing Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. Organized by the People's Government of Yuzhong District. Paolo Bazzoni, the CICC Vice President in Chongqing, attended the opening ceremony as a representative of the chamber.

 

The Italian pavilion at the festival was a highlight, with four renowned Italian coffee - related brands - Lavazza, Tobia, Bialetti, and Smeg. These brands brought the authentic flavors and unique charm of Italian coffee culture to the event. Their participation, facilitated by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) with the support of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, offered visitors a chance to experience high-quality Italian coffee products and brewing techniques, the festival was set to span from April 18 to 20, attracting coffee enthusiasts and industry insiders alike.

 

21 April 2025

 

On April 21st, the "Striving to Write the Chongqing Chapter in China’s Modernization Drive" themed event, jointly hosted by the International Department of CPCC and the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, was held in Chongqing. By sharing vivid stories of Chongqing's high-quality development and the improvement of people's living standards in recent years, it showcased the magnificent picture of China's comprehensive advancement of Chinese - style modernization under the leadership of the CPCC and the important opportunities it brings to global development.

 

More than 200 international leadersof association and companies from over 50 countries, foreign diplomatic envoys in China, attended the meeting. Among them, Mr. Paolo Bazzoni, CICC Vice President in Chongqing, attended on behalf of the chamber. During the Dialogue Session with the Vice-Minister of the International Department of the CPCC Ms. Sun Haiyan and the Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, he delivered a speech, sharing his experiences and witnessing the growing drive of the modernization of Chongqing.

 

23 April 2025

 

On April 23rd, the initiative Factory Tour to SERES Super Factory was successfully held in Chongqing. As a significant segment of the southwest region's event series, this activity was jointly organized by CICC, Chongqing SERES Group Co., Ltd, with the support from the the Mechanical Engineering Working Group (MEWG) of CICC and Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing.
