23 December 2021

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) celebrated the Christmas festivities together in Chengdu with a special dinner on December 23rd at Restaurant Girasole. The event was the opportunity for the Sino-Italian community in the southwest of China to gather in a festive atmosphere and exchange best wishes.

At the beginning of the evening, the CICC Board Member in Chongqing Mr Gianluca Luisi, as host of the event, greeted and welcomed the guests and the representatives of the Member Companies present. Later on, the CICC Chairman, Mr Paolo Bazzoni, thanked the Members based in Chengdu for their valuable support, underlining that the CICC is delighted to see further growth in Chengdu's membership base. Mr Bazzoni then recalled the results achieved by the CICC in 2021.

The CICC has opened new offices in Chengdu and Shenzhen, expanding the scope of CICC's services and providing our members with a full range of high-quality services and opportunities for new investments. In addition, the membership base has also grown, reaching over 800 members. In particular, the number of memberships in southwestern China has more than doubled, increasing from 30 to nearly 70. This has been achieved thanks to the participation of each member company in the southwest and its long-lasting support. The Chairman also said that in the new year, through collaboration and mutual trust with the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the Cultural and Innovation Industrial Park in Tianfu New Area, we will jointly build a support platform that will provide facilities and assistance to Italian companies, as well as those expected to develop in southwestern China, in order to provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to enter or move from eastern China to the western market.

Later, the Vice Consul of Italy in Chongqing, Ms Adriana Lori, delivered a welcome speech, acknowledging the contribution made by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce to the development of Italian enterprises in southwestern China. Ms Lori then stressed that the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing will further strengthen the partnership with the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce to provide an even stronger platform for Italian businesses operating in the area.

Afterwards, Mr Luisi presented the achievements of the recent cooperation project initiated by the CICC with the Tianfu New Area Government. This is a project that set an example for the cooperation between the P.R.C. and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and has created win-win opportunities for Tianfu New Area, Chengdu and the entire Chinese and Italian business community in the region, increasing the visibility of all the actors involved.

The dinner then took place in a cheerful, warm and lively atmosphere.

We would like to thank our Members, Friends and Partners for all the support they have given us throughout the year, we are ready to offer you more and more assistance and services for a prosperous 2022.
