True Italian Taste – Italian Gelato Recipe

Dear Members and Friends,

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce promotes authentic Italian agricultural food & wine products through the True Italian Taste” project, focused on safeguarding the Made in Italy and hamper the spread of the Italian sounding phenomenon.

The CICC aims at raising awareness of the authentic Italian Food & Wine products among Chinese consumers, in contrast to those which seem Italian but in reality, are not.

Specific labels (PDO – Project Designation of Origin, PGI – Protected Geographical Indication) have been settled to identify those agricultural food products which result from a unique combination of specific environmental conditions and human factors of a certain geographic area. Behind these labels there are specific quality norms that protect consumers, certifying the quality and uniqueness of the products.

In order to promote authentic Italian products, CICC produced some videos we are glad to share with you. This one is about Italian Gelato. Gelato is a creamy frozen dessert perfect to keep you cool on a hot summer day. The traditional homemade Italian Gelato is made of excellent raw materials: fresh milk, cream, sugar and any sort of flavoring you like, like strawberry, pistachio and chocolate. Due to its natural ingredients, Gelato is considered a healthy dessert: it contains a high number of vitamins and proteins, and it is lower in fat and calories compared to the ice cream you find in the supermarkets.
