XII Edition of Career Day, 7 June, Beijing

On June 7th, the XII Edition of Career Day took place at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.

The event, organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce together with the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing,  the Association of Young Italians in China (AGIC), and the CICC Young Professionals Network, brought together over 150 participants — including young professionals, students, and leading companies — for a full day of networking, career development, and recruitment opportunities.

 

 

Event highlights:

  • Opening remarks by H.E. Massimo Ambrosetti, Ambassador of Italy to China, Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of CICC, and Marco De Biasi, Board Member of AGIC. 
  • Keynote speech from Professor Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Italy, titled "The New World Order and China-Europe Relations: Prospects for the Young Generation" which captivated the audience with insights into global economic shifts and the evolving landscape facing today’s youth.
  • Practical and engaging workshop titled “China Career Toolkit: CV, Interview & Job Platform Strategies” by Tristan Wang, GiGroup Holding Regional Head for North China, who offered valuable advice on navigating China’s job market
  • Presentation of the CICC Young Professionals Network by its coordinator, Pasquale Pometti, who introduced the mission and ongoing activities of the network. He highlighted how the initiative serves as a platform for Young Professionals and students to connect, grow professionally, and access tailored opportunities such as networking events, career development workshops, mentorship programs.
  • Offline job fair took place thanks to the support of CICC Member companies that opened opportunities for young talents in the market. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with company representatives. Job openings spanned across sectors such as finance, design, international trade, and manufacturing, with candidates securing interviews on the spot.

 

 

A special thanks to all the companies that joined the event: EU SME Centre, IS Architecture and Design, Misano Beijing LLC, Pacific Prime Co., Ltd., Rs Asia, and Shanghai SinoDrink Trading Co., Ltd. For this edition also two open desks were made available by the partners Gi Group and EU SME Centre, where candidates respectively had the chance to show their CVs and get direct feedback as well as receiving tips on understanding the business environment for European SMEs operating in China.

 

 

During this year’s Career Day two new collaborations that will strengthen support for young talent in China were announced.

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network introduced a partnership with Gi Group Holding, offering exclusive one-to-one career coaching sessions to its members, a valuable tool for those navigating the Chinese job market. Additionally, a new collaboration with AGIC was announced, giving AGIC members access to a special membership rate when joining the Young Professionals Network.

These partnerships aim to create even more concrete opportunities for career development and community engagement within the Italian young professional network in China.
