Italian Hospitality Guide 2015-2016

Q as Quality.
This is the seal that promotes and certifies the Italian restaurants ambassadors of the Made in Italy abroad.
This is well known by the Italian restaurants in China which have participated to the Italian Hospitality Project, certification of quality born in 1997, promoted by Unioncamere and supported by the National Institute for Tourism Research and five Italian Ministries (Foreign Affairs, Cultural Heritage, Economic Development, Tourism, and Agriculture) and realized thanks to the constant support of the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad.
Which requirement that restaurants need to meet in order to be identified as “quality restaurants”?
- Italian wines
- Italian products
- Italian Chef
- Italian atmosphere
- Italian extra virgin olive

These are the basic requirements that restaurants need to meet in order to guarantee that the standards of Italian Hospitality are met, so that the foreign consumers can identify the real Italian cuisine and its food-and-wine excellencies.

The 2015 Italian Hospitality Awarding Ceremony took place within the Food Hospitality China, the biggest F&B fair in China, where sixty-four were the restaurants awarded.

The Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr. Stefano Beltrame, and the Shanghai Manager of the China Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), Ms. Antonella Sciarra, gave all the certificates and seals to the restaurateurs in front of more than 200 plus guests, including some of the most important media at the local and national level, and by F&B representatives.

Guests of honor: Cao Difei, famous Chinese anchor and winner of the “Top Ten Most Popular Presenter”, and Susan Wu, well-known food critic and wine expert, as well as author of the “Cin Cin a Venezia”, book dedicated to the wine-making tradition of Veneto region.

The event has been realized in cooperation with Veneto Promozione and it has been sponsored by some of the main Italian brands operating in the Chinese market such as Alce Nero, Amore Trading, Asti, Fabbri, Ferrarelle, Ferrero, Finigate, Granarolo, Oggi restaurant, Segafredo and Sinodrink CICC has also presented the new edition of the “Authentic Italian Food Quality Experience” guide, which illustrates all the distinguishing features of each awarded restaurant.

Many references have been made to the Italian territory and to the wine and food culture. CICC also presented the project Signamaris, coordinated by the CICC in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, ideated to promote the food and wine and naturalistic culture of our Country with a touristic strategy that identifies the harbors of Calabria, Campania, Puglia, and Sicily as a new entry door to our territory.
The event was concluded by the presentation of the recipes book “The Four Season”, born from the cooperation between the best Italian Chef and the Italian Institutions in China: the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Institute of Culture and CICC. The proceeds of the sale are donated to charity to help children in need.
