2014 Area Meeting, Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia, UAE and South Africa_Post Event

The 2014 edition of the Area Meeting of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia, UAE and South Africa was held in Beijing on April 4th and 5th.


The event kicked off with the open seminar “More Italy in Asia: Italian Investments’ outlook for the 2014 and best practices amongst Chambers’ Members” and was followed by a two-day closed door working sessions amongst Italian Chambers’ representatives.

 

Attended by over 70 people, the seminar started with greetings by CICC Chairman, Franco Cutrupia, H.E. Ambassador of Italy, Alberto Bradanini, and Assocamerestero’s Chairman, Leonardo Simonelli Santi. A brief about China FDI’ situation and policy was provided by the Foreign Investments Department Promotion Office of the Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C. and investment’s experiences of six CICC Members’ companies were shared with the public.


Presentations from CICC Members covered different investment’s solutions, from representative office to wholly foreign owned enterprise, as well as a gamut of sectors, such as manufacturing, distribution and services. A special thank goes to contributing Members: In3Act, Tenova Industrial Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Progetto CMR, Cobra (Beijing) Automotive Technologies Co., Ltd., RDM Asia – Florentia Village Outlets and Exprivia S.p.a. Beijing Representative Office.

 

To conclude, Italian journalist Rita Fatiguso led a roundtable and left the floor to representatives from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to contribute with their bottom-up experiences about prospects for Italian investments and Italian export in Asia.


The closed door working sessions have been equally effective. Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia, UAE and South Africa elected Michele d’Ercole (Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi) their Area representative and brainstormed about different ways to increase their visibility towards Italian SMEs.

 

Secretaries General from different Chambers will meet in Rome from June 15th to 18th on the occasion of the annual SG’s Meeting.
